Nankang Tires Review 2024 (Effective or Just Gimmick)

Nankang Tires are one of the cheapest Chinese brands you can buy today. You get great value in a much more affordable way. 

Moreover, Nankang is a Taiwanese company set up in 1940 by engineers. The company used Japanese technologies, which gave it global popularity.

The tires are supplied in over 100 countries, including North America, Europe, etc. 

In 2003, the Nankang Tire and Rubber Company had camaraderie with China to ensure the excellent production of its products.

So, nowadays, it’s mainly called a Chinese brand. Also, the tires are marketed by Tireco Incorporation.

Top Nankang Tires Review: 

As mentioned above, in this section, we’ll review the best Nankang Tires and respond honestly to the performance in different weather and surface conditions. 

1. Nankang AS-1: Top Ultra-High-Performance Tire

The Nankang AS-1 is an all-season tire, available at a much more affordable price tag and suitable for SUVs and passenger vehicles.

The tire has impressive all-year performance, especially in dry and wet conditions. 

They are available in sizes 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21-inches, backed up with a 40k miles guarantee.

The manufacturers provide T, H, V, W, and Y speed ratings; however, when I pushed them hard, the tires produced annoying noise.

 Dry Road Performance 

This set’s dry road performance is the epitome of perfection, thanks to the rigid shoulders and enhanced overall traction on the dry surface.

The tires maintained a good grip on the hot highway pavement; however, as I said, these tires aren’t suitable for high speeds.

The overall performance was pretty good on dry roads. I would rate 8 out of 10 due to less stability at high speeds. 

Wet Road Performance 

The wet road performance is excellent, too. There was little pouring outside and little hesitation if the tires could perform on wet pavements.

However, they easily surpassed the wet surface, providing a comfortable and stable ride. 

The circumferential grooves and tread blocks, angled perfectly for wet conditions, did their job well. 

Snow Road Performance 

The tire is supposed to be all-season. However, the tires couldn’t satisfy my team during snow road testing.

The tires aren’t supposed to be driven even on little snow, or it can result in the crackability of sidewalls. 

Things we like liked:

• The tires have good dry and wet road performance. 
• The tires provide excellent gripping on corners and improved handling. 
• Wallet-friendly. 
• Responsive. 

Things we don’t like:

• The tires produce noise at high speeds. 
• The tires aren’t suitable for winter conditions. 

Verdict 

Overall, the tire performance was excellent in both dry and wet conditions.

Yet, cheap tires have the old-school problem of producing noise at high speeds, which is the same as the Nankang AS-1. 

In addition, the tires are affordable, having exquisite tread wear compound to ensure better driving performance on dry and wet pavements. 

2. Nankang Conqueror AT-5: Excellent All-Terrain Tire 

Nankang Conqueror AT-5 is an all-terrain tire for light trucks, SUVs, and crossovers.

The tire has an exquisite tread pattern, which works fine in all weather conditions. It’s also one of the cheapest tires I found online. 

Nankang Conqueror AT-5 is available in 15, 16, 17, 18, and 20-inch diameter sizes, with a 50k miles warranty, which is quite remarkable for a budget tire.

In addition, the tire is Alpine Symbol Certified, which proves that the tire has significant performance in winter conditions. 

Dry Road Performance 

Honestly, I purchased this set of tires because they were cheap.

However, I have tested my truck on dry highway roads and couldn’t find much better tires than these in dry conditions.

Yet, the tire did produce some noise on the highway despite having speed ratings of T, S, and R; that’s considerable because of the price tags. 

Also, the practically designed tread pattern has rugged shoulders and a good grip in off-road conditions.

Even after an extended 300-mile drive, the tires easily resisted abrasion, thanks to the 3 Ply sidewalls. 

Wet Road Performance

The wet road performance is splendid, too. The larger voids and circumferential grooves evacuate water and prevent the risk of aquaplaning.

It provides adequate gripping and handling on wet pavements. 

Snow Road Performance 

The tread is infused with advanced silica compounds, which provide impressive performance in snow and wet conditions.

The voids also evacuate snow, resulting in better handling in winter conditions. 

Things we liked:

• These tires have excellent dry and wet performance. 
• Good treadwear warranty, 50k. 
• Resist hydroplaning. 
• Impressive snow conditions. 
• Improved handling on every terrain. 

Things we don’t like:  

• I was not too fond of the noise they produced on the highway. 

Verdict 

One thing I liked the most about this tire was the mileage warranty. Most tires don’t come with such warranties in a much cheaper way.

Moreover, the tire performs excellently on wet, dry, and even light snow. 

Ultimately, the tires have outstanding all-season performance with excellent gripping and traction on every terrain. 

3. Nankang Noble Sport NS-20: Suitable Summer Tire 

Are you an enthusiastic sports driver? Then Noble Sport NS-20 might fit in your car tire wheels.

The tire is manufactured for sedans, coupes, and SUVs, available at much lower price tags.

The tire is available in 15 to 22-inch diameter sizes and is specially designed for summer conditions.  

The tire has a sporty directional tread pattern to enhance better gripping and traction on roads backed up with a 40k miles warranty.

These tires won’t hesitate to be driven at higher speeds; they have speed ratings of W, V, and Y. 

Dry Road Performance 

The dry road performance is average if you don’t push the limits. The braking and gripping are also excellent on the dry road; however, the tire didn’t satisfy me on corners.

However, the tire maintains good traction on dry roads thanks to solid center ribs and shoulders. 

I would rate it 8/10 because of less braking performance on dry roads.

Wet Road Performance 

The wet road performance is excellent; the circumferential grooves do their job pretty well by evacuating the water and reducing the risk of aquaplaning.

With this, you can drive your car without obstacles on wet roads. The tread blocks and sipes maintain a good grip on wet pavements. 

Snow Road Performance 

The tires are manufactured for summer, so I won’t recommend you guys test them in snow conditions, or else they can result in tire damage. 

Things we liked:

• The tires have good overall dry and wet performance. 
• Resist hydroplaning. 
• Excellent in summer conditions.

Things we don’t like:

• The tires don’t have good cornering. 
• Produce noise at high speeds. 

Verdict 

I liked the overall performance of this set of tires. However, the gripping on corners is terrible.

Moreover, the grooves resist hydroplaning, which is excellent for a budget tire. The annoying noise they produce at high speeds is one of the deficiencies. 

In addition, the summer has average performance on the highway but is unsuitable for snow and winter conditions. 

Why Should You Buy Nankang Tires? 

I had never tried Chinese tires on my cars; I have only opted for Michelin or Pirelli tires.

This time, however, I was astounded to see a lot of information provided by the company that made these tires. Let’s see why I chose Nankang Tires and why you should.

Nankang Tires offers budget-friendly, durable, and versatile options with good grip and traction on various terrains but may produce noise at high speeds. 

Budget-Friendly 

As mentioned above, the tires won’t cost you an arm or leg. These are cheaper than Michelin, Cooper, Goodyear, and Pirelli Tires.

Of course, these tires aren’t comparable to the mentioned premium brands, but they are acceptable. 

I didn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars just for a tire; I bought a whole set for less than 400 bucks, which is excellent. 

Durable 

The tires have a robust tread compound, which boosts their longevity.

Moreover, reinforcements, steel belts, beads, and advanced rubber compounds ensure safety and increase the durability of the tires. 

You also get a 40k to 50k miles warranty with these tires, which is considerable if you look at the price tags. 

Quality 

The overall quality of the tires is impressive in dry, wet, and snow conditions. You get good grip traction on different terrains.

The tires are infused with high-quality materials, resulting in much better performance. 

Also, the tread pattern design is engineered perfectly and is pretty shipshape. I would rate 8/10 for the quality of these tires. 

Fuel-efficient 

The fuel efficiency is just average, not so great or high. However, it’s acceptable at these price tags.

Although it depends on the company’s tire type, I found every set has different fuel efficiency ratings on their website. 

Broad Range 

As I’ve mentioned above, you can buy every set of tires at a much more affordable price. The company manufactures all-season, summer, and even winter tires.

You will not need tire changes throughout the year with ultra-high-performance all-season tires.

Although the tires aren’t suitable for high-speed drive, the overall performance in dry and wet conditions is better than most of the cheap tires available in the stores. 

Moreover, Nankang Tires are among the top Chinese brands, so you don’t have to worry about the quality and durability of these tires.
