11 Common Hitachi TV Problems
Here are the 11 smart ways to troubleshoot your Hitachi TV issues.
1. Freezes & Lag
This is one of the most frustrating Hitachi TV problems. If your Hitachi TV gets a “freeze” or experiences any sort of lag, it will almost certainly be very difficult to use.
Freezes are when the picture on your screen stops updating completely. When this happens, you will see everything frozen except for the blinking cursor in the middle of the screen.
Lag is when the picture seems to be “slow” to update. Lag can happen for many different reasons. It could be your internet connection, your TV’s processing power, or maybe something else entirely.
Whatever the case may be, if your Hitachi TV freezes or lags, it’s time to take action:
- You should power cycle (unplug it from the wall) and then plug it back in to see if that fixes the problem.
- Indeed, a power cycle will often fix most Hitachi Smart TV problems. If a power cycle doesn’t work, try restarting your TV.
- If that doesn’t work, the next step is to reset your TV by holding down the Menu button while turning your TV back on.
- Keep holding down the Menu button until you hear a beep.
- Then, release the Menu button, and your TV will automatically reboot itself.
- After the TV reboots, turn it back on and see if the freeze or lag has gone away.
If all of this fails, you will need to contact Hitachi’s customer support. This is especially true if you are experiencing frequent freezes or lags. Frequently freezing or lagging TVs will almost certainly be replaced under warranty.
2. Video Black Screen With No Reason
A power failure often causes a black screen for no reason. Although this sounds scary, it is actually very easy to prevent. In fact, many people never experience a black screen for no reason at all.
To help prevent black screens, you should always unplug your Hitachi TV when you are not using it. This will ensure that your TV has enough power to keep running smoothly when you are using it.
3. No Audio With Video
This problem can occur for many different reasons. Sometimes, there is nothing you can do to get the audio back. Other times, there may be an audio option in the menu that lets you select a different audio track or language.
If this happens to you, just try one of those options and see if the audio comes back. If it doesn’t, you will have to get in touch with Hitachi’s customer service. They will be able to help you fix this problem.
4. Audio That Stops And Comes Back
This is another frustrating Hitachi TV problem. This issue occurs when your TV detects an audio signal from something other than what you are watching.
For example, let’s say you are watching a football game on your connected streaming app (like NFL Sunday Ticket), and then you switch over to your TV to watch the Weather Channel. The TV will detect the change in channel and then switch over to the Weather Channel automatically. At this point, the TV thinks it is getting an audio signal from the football game and thus starts playing the audio from that app.
However, since it is getting the audio from the wrong source, the audio from the football game stops for a second or two and then starts again. This causes an annoying buzzing sound in your ear while the audio from the game is cutting out.
Afterward, the TV will realize it was getting the audio from the wrong source and stop playing the audio from that app.
5. Blinking Red LED:
If this problem happens to you, simply unplug your TV from the wall for five seconds and then plug it back in.
This will reset your TV and make it ready to use again. If you still have this problem after trying this simple solution, try powering cycle (unplugging it from the wall) and then restart your TV.
If it is still blinking, then give a call to the Hitachi repair center to assist you.

6. TV Won’t Turn On:
The last common problem we are going to discuss is when your Hitachi TV will not turn on at all. This can happen for many different reasons.
First, it could be a loose connection inside your TV or to the power supply unit (PSU).
Second, it could be a problem with your power supply unit (PSU).
Check your connections inside your TV and make sure they are tight.

7. Remote Control Not Working:
Can’t Change Channel, Volume, Etc. If you can’t use your remote control to change the channel, adjust the volume, or even toggle mute, then your remote is simply not working.
Here is what you need to do if your Hitachi TV remote not working:
- Ensure the batteries in the remote control you’re using are charged. Also, check to see whether the remote’s batteries are old or degraded. Replace the batteries in the remote control if they are old or degraded and see if that fixes the problem.
- If the problem still exists, then it is probably a problem with your remote control. Therefore, try using a different remote control and see if the problem goes away.
8. TV Turns On But Has A Flickering Picture:
This means there is an issue with your TV’s picture processing circuitry.
Conversely, if your TV has no image at all, there is an issue with the signal coming from your antenna. It could be as simple as the aerial on your roof needing to be replaced or as complex as you having to replace your entire cable or satellite system.
To fix this problem, you will need to contact Hitachi’s customer support. They will be able to assist you with this problem.
9. Speaker Does Not Produce Any Sound:
Sometimes when we get a new piece of equipment, it takes us a little while to get it set up just right. If that is the case with you, and you have a new Hitachi TV, you will likely not hear any audio from your TV at all.
This is another common problem with Hitachi TVs. To fix this problem, you will need to contact Hitachi’s customer support as your TV is still under warranty
10. Audio Out From My TV Is Way Too Low:
This can happen for two different reasons.
- First, make sure your TV is plugged into an electrical outlet that provides at least 15 amps.
- Second, if it is not, then see if moving your TV closer to the amplifier increases the volume.
If it does, then move the TV back once again until the audio is at a level you are happy with.
11. Audio or Video Is Out Of Sync:
If this happens to you, just call Hitachi’s customer service, and they will be happy to send you a new remote control.
Well, these were some of the most common problems that you can face on your Hitachi TV.

I have a Hitachi 32″ LED TV and when I turn it on, the initial white screen with the word Hitachi only flashes, but the backlight remains dark. The sound works normally, the picture works as well when I illuminate it with an auxiliary light, so it can be seen. This can also be caused by a defective LED the diode in the backlight? What strikes me is that when the TV is turned on, the backlight lights up for 1 second and only then goes off permanently. I have previously solved defective led strips for two Philips TVs, but there the screen did not light up even when the TV started. Here it does now, can you advise?
