This TV is a perfect fit for people looking for a smart TV with many other perks, like streaming content and a voice assistant.

It has all the features you’d expect from a smart TV, but they’re bundled into a single box.

The first thing you notice about this television is its size – it’s quite large at 65 inches.

It has a full HD resolution of 4K, which is great for watching high-definition content.

The TV also has a built-in Wi-Fi connection, so you can use your smartphone or tablet to access streaming content.

The TCL 65R635 Smart TV is a great option for people looking to save money but still get a high-quality TV.

You can use it to watch Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu on your TV, or you can use it as a gaming console.

TCL TV Picture Settings Video Guide

Do you have any issues with your TCL TV picture settings? Then look at this video tutorial on how to adjust your picture settings.

Are TCL TVs Good?

Yes, TCL has become a good brand of television in recent years. While they were once known for budget-friendly options with lower quality, they now offer a wide range of TVs that compete with big-name brands in features and picture quality.

I’ve extensively tested TCL TVs and their strengths include:

  • QLED Technology: Many TCL models boast QLED displays, delivering vibrant colors and excellent contrast that rivals more expensive OLED TVs.
  • Smart Features: Most TCL TVs come with Roku OS or Google TV platforms, providing easy access to streaming services and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Affordability: TCL still maintains a competitive edge in pricing, offering excellent value for money.

However, there are a few potential issues to consider:

  • Build Quality: Some lower-end TCL models might have slightly less premium build materials compared to top-tier brands.
  • Motion Handling: While generally good, TCL TVs might not be the absolute best for fast-paced action scenes or sports if you’re particularly sensitive to motion blur.

Overall, I believe TCL offers compelling TVs, especially if you are looking for excellent picture quality and smart features at a reasonable price point.

  1. Why all the comments on line concerning black screen problems? Also, my neighbor had one fail after 4 months. TCL replaced it with a refurbished unit! Is that common practice? If and when my 20 year old RCA fails, I would be more inclined to look at LG, Samsung, Sony.

    Reply
    • It’s difficult to determine the specific reasons for the comments about black screen problems without additional context. However, it is possible that some customers are experiencing issues with their displays, which could be a result of various factors, including manufacturing defects, usage patterns, and environmental conditions.

As for your neighbor’s experience with TCL, it’s possible that they replaced their unit with a refurbished one as a cost-saving measure, as this is common practice among some manufacturers. Refurbished units are products that have been returned, repaired, and tested to ensure they are in good working order before being resold. Whether this is acceptable or not is a matter of personal preference, but it’s important to understand that refurbished units may have some signs of wear and tear.

In terms of other brands, LG, Samsung, and Sony are well-respected brands in the electronics market and are known for their quality products. However, it’s still important to research and compare products carefully to determine which one best fits your needs and budget.

I hope you are doing great!
Although the Roku 43s435 is very good, you should be aware that it lacks Bluetooth.

  2. I have had a TCL model 50S435 in which the screen went completely dark after 3 months. TCL replaced this failed TV, after I was able to get Amazon to apply some pressure on my behalf in July of 2021. The second TCL TV has developed 12 columns of lines across the entire screen. Two new TCL TVs have failed with fatal flaws in 15 months. After reviewing many customers reviews, this is a very common occurrence. How did you analysis the expected life-time on these TCL products. Were customers who had owned TCL products over say 5 years or more surveyed during your study?

  3. Bought a TCL 55s57 TV for the den around 4 years ago. I wasn’t familiar with the brand but it was on sale at Walmart for less than 400 dollars, so I took a chance. Great picture, good sound and it has been 100% reliable. One of the best purchases I’ve made at Wally World.

  4. TCL tvs or ok but I do not like the remote control no numbers to automatically and quickly dial in the channel you want to watch you have to scan through all the channels to get to the channel you want to watch therefore I would buy a TV with the remote that had the number option on the remote control so you can dial the channel you want to watch quickly

    • Far as products made by TLC, don’t accept any of them … even if they are free, unless you enjoy being aggravated, disappointed and ripped-off. I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with several of their products–enough that I’ve learned my lesson. And if you bought any other purposely “dumbed-down” or otherwise corrupted electronics at Walmart, well, good luck. Watch out, and please be well.
