Electrolux Washing Machine Problems
Let’s with the most common problems first.
1. Electrolux Washer Not Draining:
This is probably the most common Electrolux washing machine problem and also one of the most easily solved.
If your washing machine has a draining problem, simply remove the access panel from the front of the machine and clean out the drain area. Make sure there are no foreign objects such as metal lint or rags caught in the drain.
Also, be sure to clean out the grease trap located at the bottom of the drain. If all of these things have been done, then your drain pan should be empty and ready to use.
Now put a bucket or plastic container under the drain and turn on the water supply. Check the level of water in the sink or bucket.
2. Washer Not Spinning:
This problem may occur when the agitator’s arm is not freely movable up and down or to the left and right.
First, make sure the agitator assembly is not broken. If it is not broken, then see if you can determine what is preventing the agitator from spinning.
Is it a broken wire or something else? If you cannot determine what is wrong with the agitator, remove the access panel from the front of the washing machine and take a careful look at the belt routing.
Does it appear that there is something caught in the belt routing? If there is, simply remove whatever it is and re-install the access panel.
3. Electrolux Washing Machine Not Turning On:
If your washing machine will not turn on at all, or only turns on for a few seconds and then stops, there may be a problem with the power supply.
First, check all the wiring connections at the back of the washer. Are they securely attached? If they are, then remove them and inspect them carefully for signs of damage or looseness.
Also, make sure all the plugs and switches are connected properly and that the electrical cord is not frayed or damaged in any way.
If the problem still exists, check the circuit breaker located near the washer. Make sure it is not in the “off” position. If it is not, simply turn it to the “on” position
4. Making An Unusual Noise:
Most Electrolux washers will have a small motor inside of them which drives the agitator. This motor usually makes a whirring sound when it is turning.
If you hear an unusual noise coming from the washing machine or if the motor is making a strange noise, take a close look at the motor.
The first thing to do is make sure the motor is not damaged or broken. If it appears that the motor is damaged, remove it from the washer and carefully inspect it for signs of damage.
If there is no damage, then make sure the belt is properly connected and tightened to the motor. If everything is OK with the motor, then you may have another problem.
If the problem still persists, then take the drum and tub assembly to a professional appliance repair service company.

5. Door Seal Leaks:
The door seal on an Electrolux washer has a rubber gasket that fits into a metal frame. Over time, the seal can become worn and lose its ability to create an airtight seal.
First, check that all the screws are tightly attached to the door.
Also, if the screws are not securely attached, take the screw out of the door and tighten them.
Finally, if the seals are not working properly, take the door to an appliance repair service company for repair.
6. Electrolux Washer Loses Power:
This can happen when you turn on the machine or when the water supply is turned off.
This is very frustrating, because you may think you have fixed the problem, but it will come back in a few hours. The problem is caused by a bad electrical connection somewhere in the washer.
First, check the connections of the motor and agitator. If the connections appear to be OK, then remove the access panel and make sure there is no loose wiring.
7. Vibration from motor or gearbox
The washing machine motor can be damaged when the agitator is being driven by a bad motor.
The bad agitator is often caused by dirty bearings or worn-out gears. You must check the motor for these problems.
8. Washer Leaking Water:
The leak might be coming from any place if you observe water dripping from the front of your washer.
If you notice that the leak is located under the front of your washer, then you may be having a problem with the pump assembly. If you are able to replace it, then do so.

Any idea what is causing this
Water leaks from the bottom whenever washing is going. I can’t tell where it’s coming from but, a little water is on the floor.
Water intake is noisy, filters in the line have been checked and the hose is clean. Suggestions?
Cleaned the drain and the machine has a regular tub clean. Only making this noise when water is going into the machine.
If you’ve checked the filters and the hose and the noise is only happening when water is entering the machine, then here are a few other things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the inlet valve: The inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the machine. Make sure that it’s not clogged or damaged, and that it’s properly aligned.
Check the water pressure: If the water pressure is too high, it can cause a noisy flow of water into the machine. Try adjusting the water pressure to see if that resolves the issue.
Check the fill hose: The fill hose can sometimes become kinked, which can restrict the flow of water and cause noise. Make sure that the fill hose is not kinked and that it’s properly connected to the machine.
Check the water level: If the water level in the machine is too low, it can cause the water to splash and make noise when it enters the machine. Try adjusting the water level to see if that resolves the issue.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a repair technician to take a look at your machine. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue more effectively.

my washer runs water in machine all the time and wont stop, the water , I have to shut the water off at water valve then put it on extra spin to drain all water from clothes . How do I fix This?
Hello Minda,
I hope you are doing great today!
The pump will run continually if there is water in the tub or drum because water is going into the pump and doing this. The pump could be jammed if the tub or drum is empty of water. The drain filter should be taken out and vacuumed. Turn on the electricity after clearing any lint from the area around the water input pipes or pump.
Let me know if this helps you.
Door lock electrical switch. repaired it and it ran a few times Replaced it and it ran a few times. any ideas ?
May I ask what’s the problem with the below:
Electrolux Front loading machine (4.5 years) – first time encountered the machine just showed intermittently, blank non-lighted & lighted screen with all selection buttons not lighted. I switched on/off main switch (coz this machine is screwed on under counter, with no easy access to machine power switch n drain filter (blocked by cupboard skirting, even though the machine provided self cleaning drain filter)). After endless trying, finally left the machine overnight and wanted to call for service the next day. Next day, before calling for service, I tried turning on the machine, viola it’s fine & dandy, full screen displayed n selection buttons lighted up. What do u think happen?
My washing machine has not been functioning and has E20 on the indicator . With clothes are wet .
my washing machine is leaking oil onto my cloths when washing what could bde the problem? It is an Electolux about 6 years old
Hi Richard,
Rubber has a limited shelf life. Oil and grease may leak from the gearbox as the rubber degrades. During a wash cycle, that oil and grease may go into the washing machine’s drum. Your clean clothing have stains because oil and water don’t mix.
What would make water run out when you use the clean washer cycle?
Light comes on in the front window display area but it does not progress from there . Can you give me reasons why the machine will not work ??.
My washing machine will not turn on. Does it have a locking device that has been accidentally turned on? What do the symbols mean I have indicated?
My washing machine is an
EWF12853 ecoinverter 8.5 kilos
It will not turn on.
I wonder does it have a locking device?
On the front bar, It has three symbols under the washing time : a three sided box with two down marks in it, a three sided box with 3 horizontal wiggley stripes and a snail coiled symbol.
Also alongside the washing time is another four sided box with one horizontal line and inside a dot. Do they mean anything?
My EFLS210TIW is stuck on DRAIN. I turn it on and it goes to DRAIN.
Seems to be a reset problem. Tried unplugging for several hours to no avail.
