We bought an LG side-by-side fridge in 2019, which had been manufactured in 2018. The compressor failed in December 2021, AFTER the warranty had expired. We paid $1500 for a fridge that will take $1,000 to repair. I contacted the LG class action lawsuit office in Alabama (email and letter) AND emailed the company president, and heard nothing back.
TWO appliance repair shops said they won’t work on LG fridges, apparently the company is difficult to work with even WHEN the appliance is still under warranty.
We have LG TVs, a stove, a washer and dryer. And we are keeping our fingers crossed.
Do NOT buy an LG refrigerator.

I own a LG fridge and it is a better oven than a fridge. The compressor failed twice and mine is not covered under the recall so they simply deny my claims. When the house is 70 degrees in the morning and I open the fridge to find it at 84 and all our food is destroyed that should tell you all you need to know. It was a still is under warranty but LG sent the repair guys 20 days after I reported the problem and they could not get it repaired. I have a gorgeous LG fridge model LFXS30766D/01, less than 3 years old that would be a great boat anchor. Absolute garbage!
