If the washer detects an unbalanced state, the spin LED light will blink for the remainder of the cycle and continue to glow for a short while after the cycle is over.

My GE washing machine model GFWN1100D0WW is not powering on. We checked power and water supplies, all is good. Technician (not GE) suggested we should replace control panel and since this will be expensive, he is recommending to buy a new washing machine. I’m not in agreement with this because: a) as mentioned in your troubleshooting guide, I don’t think he has checked drain clogging or fuse blow out etc. b) even if it is a circuit problem why should we replace the control panel completely? Isn’t it enough to just replace the faulty component or the specific board in the control panel. Could you please provide some tips on how to proceed

Hi Daniel,

I hope you are doing great!
The short answer is that you should try to diagnose what is wrong with the washing machine. If it’s not turning on, you should check for power, water flow, and if the motor makes any humming sound.

If you have checked all of this and the washing machine still won’t turn on, then it may need a new motor or an electrical component might be damaged. You will have to contact a service company to get it fixed or buy a new one.

My older GE washing machine is dead and will not start..I checked the power cord and it was power cord and it works fine,I bypassed the lid switch and it is ok…I can’t find out the problem
